The project activities aim to support local authorities in Chisinau to transform municipal public transport into a more inclusive, safer, more resilient and sustainable transport.
Improving public transport policies at municipal level
Increasing the institutional capacity of the Chisinau City Administration in the field of urban mobility, in accordance with EU practices
Increasing the quality of public transport management in Chisinau and Lublin by implementing innovative solutions and technologies
The final beneficiaries of the project are all categories of passengers from Chisinau.
Expected project implementation results
- Improved quality of management - Public Transport in Chisinau.
- Improved public transport legislation at local and national level.
- The Transport Department within the Chisinau City Administration will be reformed, modernized and will have a better functionality.
- Development of local transport.
- Elaboration of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
- Exchange of good practices and know-how between Lublin and Chisinau.
- Using best practices to combat the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in public transport.
- Increasing the capacity and efficiency of the City Administration in monitoring and managing traffic, by using the latest technologies and innovations.
- Creation of the Traffic Monitoring Center.
- Dashboard for real-time monitoring of bus and trolley GPS, digital timetable, passenger flow and ticket sales.
- New dedicated bus lanes.
- Developing the study on compensation and subsidizing vulnerable groups.
