European Transport Week 2021
From September 17 to 22, 2021, the European Mobility Week took place in Lublin, Poland, under the theme "Use Sustainable Mobility. Take Care of Your Health!", aimed at promoting alternative forms of eco-friendly transportation. This year's edition of the "European Mobility Week" was organized as part of the project "MOVE IT like Lublin – a Chisinau public transport sustainable development initiative," co-financed by the European Union.
The official opening of the event featured speeches from the Mayor of Lublin, Mr. Krzysztof Żuk, the Director of the Lublin Transport Authority, Mr. Grzegorz Malec, and the manager of the "MOVE IT like Lublin" project, Octavian Lungu. Mr. Lungu emphasized in his speech that the modernization project of public transportation in Chișinău is being carried out with the financial support of the European Union, and also due to the openness of the partner in Lublin, for which he expressed gratitude to the local authorities of the city. "Lublin is an example to follow, both in terms of the changes made in recent years and as an inspirational model. This visit represents a first step in the process of transferring good European practices to Chișinău in the field of urban mobility," Octavian Lungu further mentioned.
In 2022, a similar event will be organized in the municipality of Chișinău in cooperation with the city of Lublin.
