Chisinau City Administration was represented at the Congress for cross-border cooperation in Lublin, with the financial support of the European Union
During October 5-7, 2022, a delegation from Chisinau undertook a working visit to the city of Lublin, Poland.
The visit took place in the context of the 11th edition of the Congress for cross-border cooperation, a platform for dialogue between local administrations, non-governmental organizations, the cultural, scientific and business environment.
With the support of the "MOVE IT like Lublin" EU Project, topics related to public transport management, innovative solutions and other practical aspects of public transport operation were also addressed during the Congress.
During the stay in Lublin of the Chisinau City Hall delegation, the activities of the project financed by the European Union "MOVE IT like Lublin" were reviewed, visits were made to the Authority and the Municipal Public Transport Enterprise (ZTM), where they were presented the buses and trolleybuses and equipment concerning the functioning of the electronic system for making payments for the trip and other installations in the vehicles, especially those for charging electric buses.
Also, the visit to Lublin resulted in the signing of a letter of intent regarding the expansion of cooperation between the municipality of Chisinau and the city of Lublin. Through the signed document, the parties agreed to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of public service management, education, culture and art.
Context information:
The "MOVE IT like Lublin" project - the initiative for the sustainable development of public transport in the municipality of Chisinau, financed by the European Union, is implemented on the basis of a partnership between the City Hall of Chisinau and the City Hall of Lublin in Poland. The project will be implemented by 2025 and will provide support to transform the city's public transport services into a more inclusive, safer, more resilient and sustainable transport system. The total budget of the project is in the amount of 3,500,000 euros, of which 3,325,000 euros is the contribution of the European Union in the form of a grant, and 175,000 euros are allocated by the Chisinau City Hall.
