Chisinau can be a transparent and smart city just like the city of Buzau. A delegation has been on a working visit to adopt the newest and most innovative practices
The European Union funded a study visit to Buzau, Romania, as part of the "MOVE IT like Lublin" project, dedicated to the e-ticketing system and the modernization of sustainable transport.
The visit took place from February 29th to March 1st and aimed to adopt best practices in the implementation and management of e-ticketing solutions, as well as advancing smart urban mobility projects. The delegation from Chisinau consisted of representatives from the Municipality of Chisinau, the General Directorate for Urban Mobility, specialists from the Electric Transport Company, the Urban Bus Park, as well as members of the "MOVE IT like Lublin" project.
The city of Buzau is actively undergoing development and optimization of urban services and infrastructure. Thus, experts from the Buzau Municipality presented its innovative projects in the field of smart transport, turning the city into a friendly and promising city. They detailed projects that have put the city on the map of innovations.
Participants from Chisinau were able to familiarize themselves with urban initiatives aimed at improving administrative and economic aspects. During the visit, the delegation participated in workshops dedicated to the concept of a smart city, explored the e-ticketing system from planning to implementation, and visited the Buzau Ticketing and Traffic Management Center. The study visit provided a valuable exchange of knowledge and experiences, emphasizing that the sustainable development of cities is the most important driver of economic and social development and can only be achieved through an integrated approach that addresses all areas related to sustainable, circular development, information security, energy efficiency, urban regeneration, and urban mobility.
The meetings also involved the "URBAN SCOPE" consortium (consortium leader), the Romanian Association for Smart City Mobility, and "BizMatters Consulting" SRL, which will develop the study "Electronic Ticketing System for Chisinau Municipality".
The practices of specialists from the municipality of Buzau are a good example for Chisinau, which aims to modernize urban transport and adopt the best solutions and technologies in the field of mobility.
