Results of the "Urban Adventure" Contest - Edition II of the "MOVE IT like Lublin" Project

The "MOVE IT like Lublin" project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Chisinau City Hall, successfully organized the "Urban Adventure" contest as part of the European Mobility Week, held between September 16 and 22, 2025. The contest aimed to promote an active and sustainable lifestyle, encouraging the capital's residents to adopt eco-friendly means of transport such as walking, cycling and electric scooters.

Almost 200 participants accepted the challenge and demonstrated that daily movement - on foot, by bicycle or by scooter - means health, energy and care for a greener and more sustainable city. The award ceremony, which took place on September 30, was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Chisinau, Ilie Ceban, the manager of the “MOVE IT like Lublin” project, Olga Lozan, as well as the partners who supported the competition:

Moldindconbank (MICB) – Denis Cheptine, Vice President of the Management Committee, and Tatiana Marcu, PR Manager.

Balkan Pharmaceuticals – Constantin Toncoglaz, Development Director, and Cristina Cazacu, Marketing Manager.

Bolt – Ana Parasciuc, Marketing Director.

The competition included three categories: Walking, Cycling and Scooter, and the winners, designated transparently through the random.org platform, were rewarded with prizes offered by the event partners.

1st Place: MICB Card worth 5,000 lei, 50 free trips with Bolt scooters, Voucher worth 2,000 lei from Balkan Pharmaceuticals.

2nd Place: Free quarterly trolleybus subscription, 10 free Bolt scooter rides, 1,500 lei voucher from Balkan Pharmaceuticals.

3rd Place: 25 free Bolt scooter rides, 1,000 lei voucher from Balkan Pharmaceuticals.

The “Urban Adventure” event demonstrated once again that community involvement and partner support can transform urban mobility into an active, fun and beneficial experience for health and the environment.

About European Mobility Week:

The annual event, which takes place from 16 to 22 September, aims to promote sustainable urban mobility. This year’s theme is “Mobility for All”. The main objective is to eliminate transport poverty and ensure that public transport, walking and cycling are viable options for all, with affordable fares, inclusive infrastructure and equal mobility opportunities.

Background Information:

The "MOVE IT like Lublin" project - the initiative for the sustainable development of public transport in the municipality of Chisinau, financed by the European Union, is implemented on the basis of a partnership between the City Hall of Chisinau and the City Hall of Lublin in Poland. The project will be implemented by 2025 and will provide support to transform the city's public transport services into a more inclusive, safer, more resilient and sustainable transport system. The total budget of the project is in the amount of 3,500,000 euros, of which 3,325,000 euros is the contribution of the European Union in the form of a grant, and 175,000 euros are allocated by the Chisinau City Hall.
