The local policy reports aimed at reforming the public transportation sector in Chișinău, conducted within the EU Project "MOVE IT like Lublin," were presented to the local public authority
In order to ensure sustainable development and reform of the public transportation sector in Chișinău, a series of local transport policy reports were developed within the EU Project "MOVE IT like Lublin," based on the analysis of international experience, the current situation in the sector, and development opportunities.
The results of the final report were presented on Friday, January 20, 2023, during a public meeting of the Public Transport Working Group by the expert contracted by the Project, Ilie Bricicaru.
The event was attended by the General Mayor of Chișinău, Ion Ceban, representatives of the local public administration, the implementation team of the EU Project "MOVE IT like Lublin," and other experts in the field.
The local transport policy reports include both an assessment of existing policies and an analysis of legal and economic challenges in the development of sustainable urban mobility.
Additionally, the report presents scenarios and recommendations for improving the regulatory framework and strengthening institutional capacities at the municipal level, enabling the creation of the necessary implementation framework.
Therefore, the most relevant public policy proposals focus on developing a new regulatory framework for urban mobility, aiming to transition towards sustainable urban mobility, with a focus on active, collective, and shared mobility, supported by zero-emission solutions.
